This page is for format-specific JPEG quality control, not a hard KB ceiling. Camera and phone JPEGs are often larger than websites, email, or CMS uploads allow; a Balanced preset usually cuts weight for everyday web use.
If a form states 40KB, 50KB, 100KB, or 200KB, open that target-size page (or Compress JPEG to 100KB for forced JPEG under 100KB) so you get Met target / Above target from real bytes.
Start with Balanced quality for photos. Drop lower only when a platform enforces a size limit.
Oversized dimensions waste bytes—resize to display size first with the Image Resizer when the photo is far larger than you need on screen.
